Chiesman Center moving to the University of South Dakota

The Chiesman Center for Democracy will relocate to Univeristy of South Dakota, the Chiesman Foundation Board announced on Monday, October 29th.

At USD, the Center will continue its mission of promoting and supporting democratic principles and active civic engagement. Dr. Shane Nordyke, associate professor of political science at USD, will become the Allene R. Chiesman Distinguished Professor of Democracy and director of the Chiesman Center.

Within the Department of Political Science, the Chiesman Center will work closely with the Government Research Bureau and W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership to support South Dakotans across the range of civic affairs, from the private citizen to elected and appointed officials.
